Electricity Futures Pricing Data

Through NEMMCO's MT PASA forecast (updated though NEMforecast) you are able to view NEMMCO's forecasts of the supply/demand balance in the market. Keeping in mind that NEMMCO's damand forecast is a 10% POE (Probability of Exceedence) forecast - meaning it's an extreme weather forecast - the MT PASA provides a useful forecast for the physical market.

Through the inclusion of futures prices into NEMforecast, we have included a view of how the market is currently pricing the envisaged future supply/demand balance. Futures data extends beyond the 2-year time horizon fo the MT PASA data, so the focus within NEMforecast is limited to this 2-year time horizon.
