Installation

The following instructions can be used to install NEMforecast.

What you need

From our secure site you will need
• 1 x NEMforecast licence, and
• 1 x NEMforecastUpdater licence

From the Downloads page you will need
• NEMforecast install file, and
• NEMforecastUpdater install file

In addition, you will also need to install or have access to
• Microsoft SQL Server (either SQL Server 2000, 2005 or MSDE, all are fine) as this is the database system the NEMforecast uses to store all of its downloaded data. Note that Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework is required to install and run Microsoft SQL Server.

How to Install

1. SQL Server Installation
   First things first, make sure that you have access to an SQL Server database of some sort (either SQL Server 2000, 2005 or MSDE, all are fine). If you do not have access to any of these, you will need to install the one most appropriate for your network. You will need to note down an account on this SQL Server with sufficient access privileges, for use during the database install.
2. Install NEMforecastUpdater
   Once you have access to an SQL Server, you can install the NEMforecastUpdater on your local machine (or where ever you would like to run it from).
3. Activate NEMforecastUpdater
   After you have successfully installed NEMforecastUpdater, run the program so that it can get started on downloading all the data you're after. The first time you run the NEMforecastUpdater after installation, it will ask you to activate a licence.
4. Setup NEMforecastUpdater to download to correct database
   When NEMforecastUpdater has been activated with your licence, it will ask you to setup some database connections, so it knows where you want all the data to go.
5. Install NEMforecast
   You are now ready to install NEMforecast on your local machine (or where ever you would like to run it from).
6. Activate NEMforecast
   After you have successfully installed NEMforecast, run the program so that you can start viewing all the data you're after. The first time you run NEMforecast after installation, it will ask you to activate a licence.
7. Setup NEMforecast to download to correct database
   Once NEMforecast has been activated with your licence, it will ask you to setup some database connections, so it knows where to look for data to display.
